ReplyDeleteI knew him through some friends in the mid 90's in Miami. He met my female roommate, she gave him her number, then the harassment started. He was calling and leaving weird voicemails and songs he would sing. He is definitely strange, but I would not have placed him as a rapist or child pornographer...just a little "off". Sounds like he has gotten stranger as he got older.

Dean has even gotten other 7. naïve young girls or boys to convince his victims that he means them no harm and that they were his models who he made very successful. If Dean actually succeeded in getting these women to go to his home on false pretenses he immediately started serving them alcoholic beverages (some beverages are thought to have been spiked with numerous date rape drugs or sedatives) and began the process of having sexual intercourse with them. Dean has done this even too girls he KNEW were underage and in some cases unconscious from the large amounts of drugs, alcohol, and god knows what else he gave to them. He tells these young women he is 10-15 years younger than he really is, then sweet talks them into getting them alone and away from the crowd. He has a criminal record which includes: theft, harassment, trespassing, impersonation, assault, and now rape.
However, In every attempt the law enforcement has made to arrest Dean Kelly for any of the above crimes, Kelly was able to bail himself out of prison. The source behind this bond money are his parents who now reside in Mississippi probably due to the embarrassment of their son.

I would be hesitant to call any other number aside from the one posted on Nola.com or 504.821.222 (NOPD), as Dean is known to frequent these sights in the guise of a friend or victim. It would be unfortunate if someone called a number that he gave and reported an assault(along with all of her own information) to Dean posing as a cop. Please just be aware.
I met him out a couple of years ago when I was working a promo event. I gave him my number... Big mistake! He said he worked for Maxim and was looking for "models" for a promo event they were hosting. I didn't fall for that but he obsessively texted me, inviting me to "VIP" events, games, concerts, etc. Something didn't feel right so I always said I was too busy. He used to text from a different number every month and then I thought he finally disappeared. I guess once I was over 21 he lost interest.

In 1995 Dean Kelly raped my daughter. She was 15, a virgin, and he was 24. My daugher's modeling agency and her rep in South Beach had introduced him to our family and he claimed he'd be her "big brother" protecting her from the scum bags of the modeling industry. We grew to trust him and my daughter considered him a friend. One rare night when I wasn't with her, he drugged her water and raped her. It took her a couple of years to put the pieces together but she figured it out. We informed all agencies involved and they washed their hands of him. Apparently we weren't the only people with such allegations. She was told at the time that it would be her word against his so we didn't pursue it but we are so grateful that he's in jail. We hope and pray he stays there and will be contacting Det. Merricks soon to see if we can help with the cases against him. He is a very sick man who needs to be locked up for the rest of his life. He has surrounded himself with people who love him enough to allow themselves to be manipulated by his lies. I no longer feel sorry for them because at this point they must know what he is. What he took from my daughter took her years to get back. She is no longer a victim but a survivor. He can't be allowed to do this to anyone else. I believe there are many more girls out there who have yet to come forward.

But I know him, and I know what he is about. He is not some big strong guy, he is not a tough guy. I am a 125 lb woman, and I have never feared Dean on a physical level at all. He slept with several of my friends and if they refused would kick them out of his house on st Charles at like 3am......by themself, with no ride home. None of my sorority sisters were forced into anything as far as I know. Him and I did hang out quite a bit and fooled around but we never had sex.....thank gawd. He was always so hyper............I was convinced he was constantly on speed, but who knows, just speculation. He definitly harassed the shit out of every female he came in contact with. I stopped hanging out with him when I shared with him that I molested when I was 10 and he said that it was probably bc I was just a horny 10 year old. I thought that was quite an odd response. ReplyDeleteI met dean in 2003 when I was 19 years old. I worked at a Jamba Juice when I ran into him and he invited me to some Hollywood parties. When I got to his place later that night he had girls there who said they knew him for years and we went to a celebrity party in Hollywood Hills. After that we went to a cantina and he got me pretty drunk. He said he needed to get something from his place and told me he wants me come with him. Naturally he came on to me and we had sex. We were "seeing" each other for a couple of weeks mainly because I was impressionable. I thought good looking guy and famous (lol), he was also only the second guy I've been with. I found him extremely odd and cold and at times kind of pathetic and weak. He was extremely cheap and treated me like furniture, I could not hold a normal conversation with him. I decided to end it. That's when the stalking started. I started avoiding his calls and he kept blowing up my phone and driving by my house then saying he saw me with other guys and that I'm a slut and a whore. He would curse me out one time and then invite me somewhere ten seconds later. One time he called being apologetic and said he wanted to take me to breakfast to make it up to me. Sadly, I went for it like a stupid girl. We never went to breakfast. He took me to his place and started to come on to me. I told him no repeatedly and still he took my clothes off and did what he wanted. I was too numb and shocked at what was happening, scared he would hurt me if I resisted. Then he took me home and that and was that. I'm glad he is in jail again. He left an emotional scar on me that hasn't healed to this day.
ReplyDeleteI knew Dean's family and spent a lot of time with them years ago. I remember Dean when he was about 10 or 12 years old. He was really a very personable kid. I was impressed with his friendly outgoing demeanor. His family was very nice and about as normal as they get and Dean was one of my favorites. Sad to hear that ole Dean-o may have turned out like some of you are saying. Also sounds like he may be very insecure. I hope that the allegations of rape are not true. I've been falsely accused of some horrible things by my x and the mother of my children so I know firsthand that people can be unbelievably dishonest. If these things are true, I hope he gets help even if he has to pay the price for his wrong doings. Lastly, May God bless all of you and through his Grace bring you Peace.

In October 2009, I was running in Audubon park and approached by a good looking guy riding a bike. He asked if I was in some class at Tulane because I "looked familiar." Cheesy pick-up line, but harmless. He asked if I went to any Saints games and said he worked for ESPN. He said they were doing a big promo for the next game and asked for my number to send me info. I would not give him my number, so he asked about a Facebook account. He said he would send info and I should bring a group of friends. I gave him my name. I was skeptical, but it did sound like it could be fun. When I got home a had a Facebook message from Tyd Durden. I googled him. Not much info, but there was a girl in Iowa or somewhere that stated he was a fraud, fake pics, etc. His FB account had dozens of pics with athletes, models, A list actors... It was almost as comical as pathetic. I asked about the pics, he asked for my #, I refused. I left it alone. I knew he was bad news.

Honestly, if I were 10-15 years younger and had not dated a similar sociopathic man, I may have "thrown" myself at him too. The good looks and charm are easy for a young girl to fall for. This man is a predator. Those of you who "know" him and defend him have fallen for his manipulation. You don't even know it. Anyone who can defend a man who lures young GIRLS and women with lies, fake names, fake jobs, fake pictures, promises, etc, needs to get a grip on reality. Anyone who would criticize a young woman for not putting her name on a public blog stating she was raped, sexually assaulted, stalked or knows someone who was should reassess their words. Imagine your sister or daughter in that situation. Do you actually think that all of these women with separate encounters are in some conspiracy? Seems like there is some delusional thinking there.
I'm not sharing this for legal reasons. My story is insignificant in the case against him, but it disgusts me to know that he is still preying on women. I hope those of you who have been a victim of this man push forward with your cases. Revisiting a traumatic event or moment you want to forget is never easy, but it may save someone else from going through the same thing... And ladies, learn from this. Be cautious, follow your gut feeling, and remember Google can be your best friend...

ReplyDeleteHe was texting me from a prepaid cell phone this past weekend. He used to text me NONE STOP, but I had not heard from him in probably 3 years. I received a text message on Friday night, calling me by the nickname he used to use when texting me and asking me to come to the H&M party downtown. I responded with who is this? Which he continued to ask for my email and skype to send pics to "refresh my memory," and signed it with "T." I had a gut feeling it was him due to my nickname that was used and they way he was wording the texts. Once I started asking more questions about who this person was,why he knew my name, and eventually asked if it was Dean, he backed off and said no wrong number, It's Tara. My friends and I called the number and it was a prepaid cell phone. He must have all his old numbers stored somewhere, because it has been almost 6 years since I first met him. ReplyDeleteWhat's the latest on this? I was a little intoxicated when I met Dean like 5 years ago, and gave him my number. I didn't recall doing this, but when he texted me, I had him in my phone as 'D Daniel Date Rapist'. Luckily, I was able to avoid him after multiple invitations to meet him at Saints games or launch parties with his VIP access. After he found me on Facebook, I realized I had met him before that night he got my number... when I was in HIGH SCHOOL. He was creeping around some of my friends even then. Psycho.

ReplyDeleteI knew him through some friends in the mid 90's in Miami. He met my female roommate, she gave him her number, then the harassment started. He was calling and leaving weird voicemails and songs he would sing. He is definitely strange, but I would not have placed him as a rapist or child pornographer...just a little "off". Sounds like he has gotten stranger as he got older.
ReplyDeleteThis post is pretty old, but I completely see truths in all of these statements (excepts dean's)...in 2005 me and friends were doing a show on the coast in biloxi. He approached us and wanted to do a shoot. He had "models" in tow... one that looked very uncomfortable and kind of jealous. She looked the same age as me. I was 15 at the time. We did a "test shoot" on the beach and at his parents mansion in bay st louis (which he said was a friend's house). We were skeptical and he showed us several modeling websites with his name on them... websites I could never find later. He was fairly professional, but my friend was VERY skeptical of him and she was older than I was at the time. He asked us to come out to his "studio" on st Charles. We went and he told us his studio was closed for repairs so we'd be doing the shoot in his bedroom. He asked us several times if we wanted drinks which we refused. He had trunks of outfits and wigs and lighting equipment and he did take our pictures. He showed us an obscene amount of photos of him with famous people and showed us a video of some show he did with seth green. At one point my friend went to the bathroom to call her boyfriend. Dean took me out on the balcony and was telling me I was an angel and exactly the kind of girl he was looking for... so beautiful etc. Very sweet. But there really is something off about him ...he does seem like he constantly about to flip out and act angry and I remember being scared he was going to throw me off the balcony so I was very careful not to push him away or act rude. He grabbed my hips and tried to kiss me. I turned and he kissed my neck. My friend walked up and saved me.. she said we had to go. Later he begged for my number through my friend but I was 15 with no phone. She ended up having to change her number and we never heard from him again. I dont know what he's capable of, but it is ridiculous to write this guy off as innocent enough or "just another guy" just bc he was good looking or small time famous. I can validate at least some of these statements women have made here: fake websites, models in tow that repeatedly tell you how great he is (it's weird and they weren't very convincing),the family wealth, the mansion on st charles, the creepy demeanor, and the harassment. He kept telling my friend she was jealous he wanted me and not her, but neither one of us wanted him. He was good looking ish, small, kinda weak,insecure, etc. It was just odd and gross. I was clearly very young but that didn't matter to him. I'm glad women are coming forward. That was a scary night for me and I'm so grateful my friend was there.

ReplyDeleteScary, I went to high school with Dean. Saw him in Whole Foods a month or so ago. Scary bc I spent a long time shopping bc my in-laws were coming to town. He seemed to be creeping around store. I looked him square in eyes and he acted as if he didn’t know me.he wasn’t shopping and had no basket but was in store pretending to be on phone. When I left literally over an hour or so, he was leaning against wall in parking garage waiting like a stalker. It all seemed very odd.
